2025 Season Rank: 18th
Who they’re losing: Brenna Neault, Anapaula Gutierrez
Who they’re gaining: Levi Jung-Ruivivar, Jennifer Williams, Ana Bărbosu, Summer Gronski, Natalie Siljander, Maeya Sagna
The New Faces:
The Stanford Cardinal have one of the most anticipated freshman classes in the country, with three international elite gymnasts ready to make their collegiate debut in 2026. Perhaps the biggest name in the class is Romanian Ana Bărbosu, who comes to the Farm fresh off winning a bronze medal on floor at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Bărbosu brings a high level of experience and confidence that should allow her to be one of the best all-around gymnasts in the country.
Jennifer Williams comes all the way from Sweden, where she was a two-time World Championship qualifier and a finalist on beam and floor at the 2025 European Championships. Williams unfortunately partially ruptured her PCL in August and has therefore had a slow preseason; however, she is back working the basics and could contribute to the bars or beam lineup later in the season.
Levi Jung Ruivivar was technically a freshman last season but stepped away from the team to focus on her physical and mental health. She’s back and looks better than ever — expect her to make an impact on all four events right out of the gate.
Summer Gronski is best known for her vault. She is capable of performing a Yurchenko 1.5, but she also has a beautiful and dynamic Yurchenko full that can score just as well. Natalie Siljander is a beam specialist, but don’t sleep on her bars and floor. She has plenty of potential to crack lineups on those events during her career.
Last but not least is Maeya Sagna, who excels on bars, where she finished third at the 2025 Level 10 National Championships.
Vault Breakdown:
Losing from postseason lineup: Brenna Neault, Anapaula Gutierrez
New faces to watch for: Levi Jung Ruivivar, Ana Bărbosu, Summer Gronski, Jamie Dugan
Outlook: The Cardinal lost two vaults from last season – two vaults that were typically big scores. The good news is that they reload with several athletes who have previously competed — or are at least capable of performing — a 10.0 start value vault. Levi Jung Ruivivar competed a Yurchenko 1.5 at the elite level; however, she only vaulted a full at the intrasquad right before Christmas break. Either way, we have her in this lineup due to her potential as an all-arounder for Stanford.
Summer Gronski is another athlete who previously competed a Yurchenko 1.5 but now appears to be sticking with the full. That said, it’s a super clean, powerful, and dynamic full that could easily score 9.85+. Sometimes it’s not about difficulty but about consistency, and Gronski has the type of vault we’ve already seen her stick multiple times, giving her high scoring potential. While the long-term goal will be to upgrade the fulls of Ruivivar and Gronski back to 1.5s, for now the focus is on health and consistency as they build toward greater difficulty.
You can also expect 2024 NCAA Vault Champion Anna Roberts to be in this lineup. She averaged a 9.873 last season — the highest on the team — and is arguably their most consistent option.
Taralyn Nguyen is another name to watch. She did not compete at the intrasquad due to undergoing emergency wisdom tooth surgery but is expected to be back for the season. Last year, she averaged a 9.778 with her Yurchenko 1.5.
Ana Bărbosu is vaulting a Tsuk full that she drilled at the open practice. It’s not the most dynamic vault in terms of amplitude, but it’s good enough to earn a spot in this lineup, especially if Stanford wants her as an all-arounder. We could see Bărbosu making appearances in the lineup throughout the season, but will be fighting it out with several athletes for a consistent lineup spot.
Jamie Dugan is healthy and vaulting a full-on pike-off with a 10.0 start value; depending on consistency, she could be a strong option. Ui Soma competed a solid full last season, averaging a 9.775, and is currently training a 1.5 that she hopes to debut later in the year. Alana Walker (9.762), Kendra Chang (9.740), and Claire Dean (9.769) also contributed last season with clean, reliable Yurchenko fulls.
Uneven Bar Breakdown:
Losing from postseason lineup: Brenna Neault, Anapaula Gutierrez
New faces to watch for: Levi Jung Ruivivar, Ana Bărbosu, Maeya Sagna, Natalie Siljander
Outlook: Stanford will lose two bar routines from its postseason lineup, but the Cardinal are far from short on options to replace them — and they’re impressive ones. Leading the way is Levi Jung Ruivivar, who is absolutely stunning on bars. Her toe point and lines are impeccable, making her a near lock for the lineup. She smashed a routine routine at the pre-holiday intrasquad that looked every bit like a back-half lineup routine and has 9.9+ potential written all over it. It’s also hard to imagine Ana Bărbosu not factoring into the conversation. She brings a clean, composed style and world-class experience that should translate beautifully to the NCAA scene.
These two newcomers only add to an already strong core from last season. Ui Soma earned a perfect 10 as a freshman and returns with the highest average among the group (9.888). Sienna Robinson follows closely behind at 9.875. She and Anna Roberts (9.823) will provide steady veteran presence. The final spot currently projects to Ava Sorrento, who averaged a 9.806 last season and is known for her elegant lines, though several freshmen are pushing for contention. Maeya Sagna stands out, as bars was her best event in Level 10, and Natalie Siljander adds intrigue with her Deltchev.
Jamie Dugan is another name to watch. She only competed twice on bars early last season, but this event was a strength during her club career, and she’s looked sharp throughout the preseason.
Associate head coach Vince Smurro has said he’s dreamed of having this many bar options to choose from and we can’t wait to see who makes the lineup.
Beam Breakdown:
Losing from postseason lineup: Brenna Neault
New faces to watch for: Levi Jung Ruivivar, Ana Bărbosu, Jennifer Williams, Natalie Siljander
Outlook: The Cardinal boast incredible depth on beam this season, making it arguably the most competitive event to crack. It also has the potential to be one of the prettiest beam lineups in the country, featuring clean, elegant gymnastics from start to finish. Temple Landry (9.865) and Claire Dean (9.846) feel like near locks thanks to their consistency, while Sienna Robinson (9.792) has also proven herself as a reliable contributor on this event. Anna Roberts (9.739) is also likely to factor in to preserve her all-around status.
Then there are the newcomers, Ana Bărbosu and Levi Jung Ruivivar. Based on preseason performances, both look more than ready to step into the beam lineup and make an immediate impact.
While those names headline the projected lineup, fans shouldn’t overlook Porsche Trinidad. She didn’t compete last season and averaged just a 9.694 in 2024, but her career-high 9.925 hints at the ceiling she brings. Ashley Carter steadily worked her way into the lineup last year, posting a 9.794 average, and Ui Soma (9.695) is pushing hard to become an all-arounder, which could keep her firmly in the beam conversation. Freshman Natalie Siljander is another to watch — beam was her best event in Level 10, and her natural elegance could earn her a spot if she shows consistency.
And if she’s able to return to full health, Jennifer Williams could be a game-changer. She’s working her way back from a knee injury and hasn’t yet been cleared for full routines, but when healthy, she doesn’t just belong in this lineup — she has legitimate 10.0 potential. There’s optimism she could make a push later in the season.
Floor Breakdown:
Losing from postseason lineup: Brenna Neault
New faces to watch for: Levi Jung Ruivivar, Ana Bărbosu, Natalie Siljander, Ui Soma
Outlook: Be prepared for the Cardinal to dazzle on floor this season. They lose only one routine from last year’s postseason lineup but add two stunning floor workers in Levi Jung Ruivivar and Ana Bărbosu. Levi’s choreography and toe point are to die for, and her tumbling is cleanly executed. Ana, of course, is an Olympic floor medalist and brings the perfect combination of power and grace that should transition beautifully to the collegiate level. We see numerous 10’s in her future!
Returning to the lineup from last season is Anna Roberts, who is known for her clean tumbling and overall consistency. She averaged a 9.879 last year. Alana Walker (9.848) and Sienna Robinson (9.837) were also extremely consistent and were true showstoppers in terms of presentation.
The final spot could be up for grabs among several athletes, including Claire Dean (9.850), Taralyn Nguyen (9.704), Victoria Cluck (9.781), whose double layout is looking better than ever, and Natalie Siljander, whose artistry is certain to wow the crowd. Ui Soma is also in the mix; although we haven’t seen her yet, she is a powerful tumbler and eager to make her all-around debut this season.
Final Outlook:
Stanford looked healthy and prepared at the intrasquad right before the holiday break, with very few mistakes across all four events. This is a team known for steadily building throughout the season, so seeing them already look this strong in December is an exciting sign. Head coach Tabitha Yim told us there’s a place in the postseason for tough teams, and this Stanford squad is ready to prove it. Regional finals and beyond are realistic goals for this group.
